Since the Trump Administration came in to office, hundreds of our immigrant Oregonian neighbors have been arrested and incarcerated by ICE. This is both a humanitarian and constitutional crisis with devastating and immediate consequences on peoples’ lived experiences: workplaces are being raided; families are being separated; individuals are getting deported without the opportunity to defend themselves.
The good news: communities are organizing in their own defense, and lawyers (like you) have the tools to join the fight. Your legal training, ability to navigate complex systems, and commitment to justice are some of the most powerful tools we have right now. By learning these fundamental assessment skills, you can help stop deportations, free people from immigrant detention and reunite communities.
