Program Coordinator

Veronica Mateo.

Veronica is the proud daughter of Guatemalan immigrants and understands the intricacies of the immigration process and the sacrifices her family endured. As a first-generation Latina, she graduated from Kansas State University. Prior to her current role, she served as a Senior Research Assistant, where she assisted nursing home residents by conducting research on respiratory pathogens, including COVID-19, RSV, and Influenza. Her organizational and research experiences with complex systems have equipped her with the necessary skills to contribute to Law Lab by advocating for and supporting the rights of immigrants. In her personal time, Veronica enjoys running, hiking, and indulging in coffee or tiramisu with her husband, Miguel, and their dog, Tela, as they explore the scenic beauty of Oregon.
