DACA Recipients Gain Access to Affordable Healthcare Coverage

November 1, 2024 — Thousands of DACA recipients can enroll in healthcare coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces starting today. Coverage is set to begin as early as December, providing much-needed access to essential healthcare services.

At Innovation Law Lab, we believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right, and everyone, regardless of immigration status, deserves access to quality medical care. This new rule to allow DACA recipients to secure healthcare coverage is a vital step in the right direction. However, it is crucial that we continue advocating for comprehensive policies that provide protections and coverage for all individuals, regardless of their immigration status.

Healthcare should not be a commodity for those who can afford it, but accessible to everyone regardless of immigration status.
